A step-by-step guide to your own 8' x 16' shed! DIY Office, Studio, Shed, She Shed, plans- whatever you Choose! This is designed to be transportable so the user can have their own transportable storage shed. If you need to move, don't move your stuff. Just back a trailer up under your shed and move the whole thing.
This 8'x16' Building is pretty straightforward in its design. I wanted a shed that was transportable and also looked nice.
There is enough space to put things on all sides and still walk in between like an aisle since it's annoying to be unable to reach things. It's really convenient to be able to drill in some screws to hang things on the studs and organize however you'd like.
There is also plenty of room to have a desk with a chair on one half and storage on the other, which is what I have done.
It is finished with metal roofing, siding on two walls, and horizontal wood on two walls. I chose to do a sho shogi baun finish to make it black and resilient. The interior is left unfinished but it would be nice to add some plywood sheeting. Feel free to pick your own style for the finishes, though. The design was made to help keep construction easy and affordable. It uses primarily 8' or shorter dimensional lumber with the occasional 16' or shorter board for the top and bottom plate and the floor frame.
Each step is very clearly dimensioned with a 3D image in the bottom right corner for each step to let you know exactly where you should be up to in the build and what you should be working on next. The pages are easy to read when printed on letter or A4 paper.
